And they're off

Today, the new Mrs. Bingley and the new Mrs. Darcy set off to their respective homes. Oh, thing will be so strange without the two. Kitty and Mary are sad, but believe that their time is coming. So it is! I have forced Mary to become more social, with Kitty's help. Oh, I hope that everyone is now happy, for I am!

What?

Apparently, Mr. Collins sent word to Mr. Bennet about Lizzy's ENGAGEMENT to MR. DARCY! I thought she HATED the man! He is the most unlikeable creature on this Earth, how could she agree to marry him? Things are becoming so strange around here, ever since Lydia's marriage. How are these things happening?

Lady Catherine's Visit

Lady Catherine came by today to speak to Lizzy. She commented on the house, but refused the tea I made. However, it was a pleasure to have her come here to our home, so far away to talk to Lizzy. Mr. Collins was right, Lady Catherine does have a condescending attitude, for she came to visit. How wonderful a woman.

At last!

See, Mr. Bennet? I told you my plans would works in the end! Even though Kitty was a little dense on the message I was sending, everything went smoothly. Mr. Bingley proposed to Jane in our absence, and now the proper daughter will marry. They make such a lovely couple.

Bingley

Today, just before supper, Mr. Bingley and Mr. Darcy visited. I observed that both Jane and Elizabeth had equal reactions. I understand Jane, but Lizzy? What happened between her and the two gentlemen? I must figure this out, for I cannot stand not knowing.

On other terms, Lydia has left. I am torn, having my youngest out in the world without me for so long. She will write, she promised. She better!

Reconciliation

Every time Lizzy hears Mr. Wickham's name, she gets a sour look. However, I noticed that today she and my new son had a civil conversation. Hopefully all grudges will be put aside so that this family can run smoothly again. Perhaps Lydia has set a trend and the others will get married! Jane shall be next, I swear!

Mr. Gardiner has found Lydia and Wickham! Alas, there is no talk of a marriage. However, I am sure that my brother will talk sense into them. They will marry, I am positive of this.
